Description

Accession 62 comprised four archive boxes containing documents listed (in the temporary schedule, compiled in November 1999) as KL/Box/1, 2, 3, 4

Accession 4266 was at Pelyn mostly stored in an original sequence of black tin trunks numbered 1-9 and marked "The" (box 1) "Trustees" (box 2) "of" (box 3) "Nicholas" (box 4) "Kendall" (box 5) "Esqre" (box 6), with 7, 8 and 9 unlabelled.

The contents of each trunk were briefly listed:

Trunk No. 1: bundles labelled 1-7, 8a, 9, 10, 12, 13, and schedule of deeds belonging to Nicholas Kendall, 1870

Trunk No. 2: bundles labelled 11, 14, 14a, 15, 16, 20-22, 24, 25, and leases of land at Strickstenton, 1784-1813

Trunk No. 3: bundles labelled 23, 27, 28, 30 and Kendall pedigree; also rentals, Polhormon, Killigarth and scattered lands 1784-1869

Trunk No. 4: bundles labelled 31-41, and abstract of title, Killigarth, 1870

Items retrieved: from rooms at Pelyn including numerous photographs, slides and drawings; receivers' accounts, Killigarth, 1750s;

commission in Coldstream Guards, 1922;

leases, letters and plans (very miscellaneous)

Sheriff's papers, 1960-61

Volumes were in general stored on shelves in the study at Pelyn, some being located in other rooms
