Probate of the will of Thomas Cookes of Billesley, gentleman, dated 11 August 1727, bequeathing to his son Thomas Cookes, his messuage, cottages and lands in Snitterfield, subject to an annuity of £12 payable to his wife, Sarah Cookes; to his wife Sarah and his son Thomas Cookes his messuages in Wolverton, to hold until his sons, John Cookes and Nathaniel Cookes, come of age, subject to an annuity of £12 payable to the said Sarah Cookes; to his son William Cookes, the tithes in Snitterfield which he purchased from Joseph Lacy [18 March 1725/6]; with smaller bequests to other relations, including his three daughters, Elizabeth, Sarah and Mary. Appointment of Sarah Cookes and his son, Thomas Cookes, as executors.
