Description

Single-acting engine, with 27 inch cylinder, 8 foot stroke, chain connection, unequal beam.

General view of the engine, front view of the engine and boiler, ground plan of the engine and boiler, plan of the first floor (2 copies); front view, section and plan of the engine house; sheet of drawings of steam pipe, cylinder and condenser (2 copies); drawing of pipes; printed illustration of "The Improved Patent pump by Messrs. Noble & Co., Torrington St., Ratcliff Highway."

Also printed list of engine components noting from whom they were ordered, Sep. 1779 (this list was posted to John Wilkinson).

Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 3. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 284.

For Penryndee Mine, Caernarvonshire, North Wales. The proprietors were Benjamin Burroughs of Gloucester, William Moore of St. Clement Danes, London, John Weston of St. Mary, Lambeth and John Kemmett of Notcliff, Gloucester.
