Description (What the record is about)
-
Papers in CARE/FIGR/1, 2, 3 and 4 are F I G Rawlins' papers, originally kept alphabetically. The chief part of the series was simply titled 'A miscellaneous' - 'XYZ Miscellaneous', though selected papers warranted their own named files, eg 'Cathedrals Advisory Committee', placed within the alphabetical series. The 'Miscellaneous' files held, for example, correspondence and papers on Council business, individual persons, organisations, dealings with the Dioceses, topics, and specific church cases. There is of course overlap between this series and the extant classes CARE/KB and CARE/OB, as well as Committee and Sub-Committee classes. In particular note that some Council Minutes and Documents were kept under 'M' (for Memoranda and Minutes) within Mr Rawlins' system.
