Description

Approving of his suggestions concerning the shape of the monument, suggests a 'cross instead of an obelisk, which for Russian eyes has something pagan in himself', endorsed with pencil sketch of cross, asks for the price for such a cross in cast-iron rather than stone which must be made in Lewes
