Proved at Hereford 18 August 1831

Copy will of Samuel Groves of Priest Weston, Chirbury, husbandman He devises his house, farm and lands at Weston, Chirbury, to his son William Groves and his heirs forever, for his son William to occupy and manage the same for the life of the testator's wife, Margaret Groves, at the yearly rent of £80 which he directs his son Wm to pay and keep down the interest money which is now on mortgage, and remainder to be paid to his wife for her life for her maintenance at Lady Day and Michaelmas yearly, not to exceed £30.

To his son Robert £100

To his daughter Sarah the wife of Thomas Gough the interest of £100 payable at Lady Day and Michaelmas yearly for her life and after her death the £100 amongst all the children living at her death equally. To his daughter Mary wife of Samuel Grove of Haithley the interest of £100 to be paid at Lady Day and Mich. p.a. for life and after her death the £100 to the children of Mary as for Sarah.

To his daughter Margaret the wife of George Harris the interest of £150 payable at L.D. and Mich.p.a. for life and at her death £150 to be paid to her children.

All legacies to be paid by the executors at the end of 7 yrs after the death of his wife.

He charges his freehold house at Priest Weston with payment of the same

His son William is to pay the funeral expenses and costs of probate.

To his son William all his stock of sheep.

To his wife all personal estate and effects.

William is to pay the expenses of the testator's wife's funeral.

After the deaths of both William is to erect a double headstone at the head of their grave.

He appoints his son William and son-in-law Samuel Groves joint executors. Witnesses: Mary Watters, Ann Griffiths, John Griffiths.
