Description

Title deeds, solicitors' working papers concerning the administration of the estate Messrs Markby, Stewart and Wadeson of London were the family solicitors in the mid 20th century

The title deeds relate to Birmingham properties in Aston, Bordesley, Erdington, Nechells and Saltley, to Warwickshire properties in Coleshill, Lillington, Meriden and Sutton Coldfield, to Dorset properties in Melcombe, Bingham, Sherborne and Studland and to properties in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Huntingdonshire, Rutland, Monmouthshire, Shropshire and elsewhere in England, and at Gaeshill in Ireland. The estate management papers are for Bordesley and Meriden including building accounts of Martin Baldwin for his house at Meriden.

The collection also includes various family correspondence and other papers, and miscellaneous papers including poems, prayers, epitaphs and scientific notes.
