Description (What the record is about)
-
Petition of Elizabeth BROWNING of Wedmore. She has eight children. Anne gave one of her daughters to John BUSHE, of Rodney Stoke. Six weeks after their marriage John forsook his wife; and has not allowed her any maintenance. John had been ordered to pay maintenance by Mr LONGE and Mr BUCKLAND. LONGE had ordered BUSHE to deliver both bed and bedclothes to Anne; this he has failed to do; compelling her to lie on straw. If Anne and her child do not receive any maintenance they are likely to starve.
