The Howard Lodge of Brotherly Love No. 56 was named and established in 1789 and met at the Crown Inn, High Street, Arundel, Sussex. In 1790 the lodge moved from Arundel to Chichester, Sussex, meeting at the Dolphin Hotel in West Street. In the same year the lodge returned to Arundel and met again at the Crown Inn. In 1892 the lodge moved from Arundel to Littlehampton, Sussex, meeting at the Argyle Rooms, River Road. The lodge now meets at the Masonic Hall, Church Street, Littlehampton.
