By JOSEPH GAGE of Sherbourn, co. Oxon, esq., concerning a purchase in his name from Andrew Wharton for £3630 of the manors of Pett and Mersham and the mansion or farmhouse called Mersham and lands (named) and one other farm called the Brewhouse Farm containing 56 ac. and lands (named) and marshlands; all in Pett, Farleigh, Icklesham and Gestling
And also concerning a purchase from Edmund Bolsworth - for £1670 - of 3 marshes called Delfe Marshes containing 28 ac. in Pett Marsh
That the said purchase monies were the proper money of Joseph Edward Gage, 3rd son of the said Joseph Gage, and the said purchases were made in trust for the said Jos. Edw. Gage
