Watermark 1839 [1840?]. Proposal on behalf of the Grand Junction Railway Company and the Chester and Birkenhead Railway Company to the Town Council of the City of Chester concerning the relative duties and obligations of the parties arising out of the erection of the Brook Street Bridge.
16th Jan. 1840. Letter from Jno. W...... from Northop to Finchett Maddock, Esq., Chester, acknowledging his letter concerning Mr. Pritchard's instructions to raise £23.9.0. He has sold some property in Northop to pay him and one or two more. He will bring the money as soon as it is settled.
Aug. 1840. John Blayney's bill for Lord Shrewbury, Chester, for 45 feet of border stones opposite premises in Castle Street in the occupation of Mr. Ducker. Note on dorse of solicitor's charges.
