Amalgamated from the Wandsworth and Putney Gas Light and Coke Company, the Mitcham and Wimbledon District Gas Light Company, and the Epsom and Ewell Gas Company, from 1 Jan. 1913, by 2 and 3 Geo. V, c. xlvii, Wandsworth Wimbledon and Epsom District Gas Act, 1912.
Amalgamated with the Kingston upon Thames Gas Company, 1 July 1930, by Special Order, 26 June 1930, under 10 and 11 Geo. V, c. 28, Gas Regulation Act, 1920, and 19 and 20 Geo. V, c. 24, Gas Undertaking Act, 1929.
Amalgamated with the Sutton Gas Company, 1 July 1931 and name changed to Wandsworth and District Gas Company by Special Order, 14 July 1931 under Acts as above.
To serve districts indicated in its name
WANDSWORTH AND DISTRICT GAS COMPANY
Succeeded the Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Epsom and District Gas Company by Special Order, 14 July 1931, under 10 and 11 Geo. V, c. 28, Gas Regulation Act 1920, and 19 and 20 Geo. V, c. 24, Gas Undertaking Act, 1929.
Nationalised in 1949 by 11 and 12 Geo. VI, c. 67, 1948 and placed under the control of the South Eastern Gas Board
