Introduction
Folly Farm was a small farm (c.130 acres) lying in the parishes of Tring and Aldbury, Herts., and Marsworth, Bucks. It was formed by John Hall Pratt (b.1878) from 1902 to c.1967, when old age forced him to retire. The farm is now owned by the Tunnel Cement Co.
J.H. Pratt was a brother-in-law of Frank Grace (see D 109), and his brother T.W. Pratt was for many years Frank Grace's managing clerk.
A rifle range was set up on Folly Farm by the Rifle Volunteers c.1904 (see item D/110/49), and was later used by the Home Guard.
For further details about Folly Farm and the Pratt family see the notes by R. Grace (D 109/122). For a pedigree of the Grace, Carter and Pratt families see the introduction to D 109.
