Parties: 1. William Turner of Shrigley Hall within Shrigley, Esq.

2. Edward Downes of Shrigley, Esq., Miss Bridget Downes of Shrigley, spinster.

Signed and sealed; William Turner, Edward Downes.

Witnesses; Thomas Grimsditch, Thomas Brodrich, George Norwin.

Lease for term of life or survivor of party 2, with reserved rights of timber, game, and ingress, at a peppercorn rent, of a messuage in Shrigley now occupied by the said Edward Downes, with the garden, coachouse, stable, outbuildings; and cottages adjacent occupied by Priscilla Friggatt, James Beard, Sarah Bradley, Thomas Heginbotham; and fields in Shrigley called Church Meadows.

Paper 1 sheet 27" wide by 17", folded, 4 pp. written pp. 1,2,3. Watermark dated 1818, c. ANSELL. (Margins of text are annotated in pencil with the diplomatic pointers to the contents of the document. The whole has been damp for a long time, and is badly discoloured and stained. Fungold traces.) Seals, two, an placard, 18mm diameter, a plain grill-patern impression.
