Armstrong Siddeley Motors: Expansion meeting

Present: Mr Chapman, Mr Johnson, Mr Saxton, Colonel Siddeley. Mr Johnson outlined the position with regards to British Panels, and considered that the price would be around £70,000. The position would be clearer after the creditors' meeting to be held 12 January 1950. Plan 1 (a) Accept Mr Saxton's proposals for gas turbine production at Ansty. (b) Colonel Siddeley to prepare layout of car manufacture in Burlington on basis of maximum 75 cars per week. (c) Layout (b) to be prepared as alternatives with and without car service department. Plan 2 Mr Saxton in conjunction with Mr Magson, to have a more accurate plan of the gas turbine scheme at Ansty prepared and will show what such a move gives in additional space at Parkside. Plan 3 Mr Johnson will continue negotiations with the object of buying the British Panels premises. Plan 4 The rough proposals which Mr Saxton put forward for moving the gas turbine development department to Ansty is quite acceptable. Plan 5
