A printed copy of the catalogue of the Bodleian Library: 'Catalogus librorum impressorum bibliothecae Bodleianae in Academia Oxoniensi', 4 vols (Oxford, 1843-51); volume 4 with title 'Catalogus impressorum librorum quibus aucta est bibliotheca Bodleiana annis MDCCCXXXV-MDCCCXLVII'. Interleaved and bound in 10 volumes. With marginal notes recording shelfmarks of copies held in Sion College Library. The interleaved pages record works held in Sion College Library but not in the Bodleian Library, and subsequent additions to Sion College Library. These volumes were adopted as the catalogue of Sion College Library, probably in 1851, following the abandonment of the catalogue by Henry Christmas who was dismissed as Librarian in 1849 and evicted from the College in 1850 (see his catalogue Sion L40.2/E118). The volumes record all printed books in Sion College Library and additions until c.1900 (when a card catalogue appears to have been initiated as a replacement finding aid), and also additions to existing series, new editions of existing works, supplements etc, from c.1900 until the bombing of 1940. Occasional notes were added subsequently recording books sold (eg. in 1938 and 1964) and volumes destroyed in the bombing of 1940-41. Sion L40.2/E174/1-6.
