Title
Letter from Lady Catherine Ashburnham to Rupert Gunnis
Date
9 May 1946
Description

Is sorry to hear the news about Sybil, and hopes that the motor tour has cheered Jack up. Discusses RG's next visit. Aunt Mary [widow of Sydney George, 2nd Viscount Knutsford]'s pictures have still not turned up and seem to be stuck between Newbury and Ashburnham. The tiresome Clement Parish from Burwash is coming tomorrow; he is a great friend of Enie [Bickersteth]. He wants to bring over Edward Churchill, a trustee of the National Gallery. Will let RG know if she hears anything about [Long] Ashton from Agnes Worrall; does not think that there will be a sale yet in view of the mess and muddle. The name Godwin is now established in the Ashburnham pedigree.
