Barnsley Westgate Methodist Church records

Built in 1792 and opened in 1794 by the Wesleyan Methodists, the building was vacated in 1846 when they moved to Pitt Street. It was sold to the Primitive Methodists in September 1868. It was closed as a place of worship in 1948. These records relate to the Primitive Methodists. Comprising:

1. List of deeds received by the Primitive Methodist Chapel Aid Association Ltd from the Westgate Primitive Chapel Trustees 1927;

2. List of deeds received by Smith and Ibberson Solicitors from Westgate Primitive Church October 1945;

3. Letter from the Trustees regarding the investment of £500 on behalf of Pitt Street Methodist Church;

5. Sunday School 1831-1890: Comprising:

1. Account book for Sunday school includes minutes of early year meeting for 1850-1851, three pamphlets for Sunday school anniversary giving details of sermons and hymns 1831-1851;
