Continuation of Side B of Z 852/2/4 above and interviews with unidentified Asian women and Sundar Ali about their employment experiences.
Side A: (1) Continuation of the trade union training exercise above.
(2) Interview with an unidentified Asian woman: details include working for an unidentified local firm of solicitors, unidentified small Greek owned Luton clothing firm, she 'virtually ran the place' undertaking most of the administrative tasks needed to run the firm for £80 per week, description of the factory, composition of the work force, firm since gone bankrupt, small firms tend to be bad employers, the perception many of employers in seeing Asians as an non assertive work force, her own education leading to taking a degree course at Luton University, and racism in the employment market.
(3) Interview with Sundar Ali on his experiences of working in Indian restaurants and in a electrical engineering firm: details include pay and working conditions in the restaurant trade, organisation and management of restaurants, the staffing structure within restaurants, differences between the kitchen and the waitering staff, working in a Esso franchised garage, the pay and working hours, night work, taking a degree in Electrical Engineering at Hertford University, one year training placement working for unidentified specialist electrical engineering firm, adapting, designing and upgrading of electrical equipment such as laser bar code readers, involvement in technical development of products, salary, future career aspirations and a description of his degree course.
