INTRODUCTION
This, the nineteenth volume of Additional Manuscripts (Add Mss) has, in general, been compiled along the lines indicated in the introduction to the first volume
This volume is mainly composed of three groups of records: those of the Wyatt family of Chichester, who were valuers and surveyors (these records have ben removed from this catalogue, and now comprise a catalogue in their own right); of the Dean and Chapter of Chichester in Eastergate; and of the Fisher family of Hill Top. The documents range in date from a deed of property in Woolavington (Add Mss 14,665) in 1520, to the correspondence between G.P. Burstow and Professor Cunliffe relating to the excavation of the Roman Palace at Fishbourne during the years 1961 to 1969 (Add Mss 14,625)
No index has been provided for this volume, as all the relevant details of this, and all previous volumes, have been included in the card indexes of persons, places, manors and subjects which are to be found in the Search Room of the County Record Office
Students are again asked to exercise care in quoting references, and to use the form indicated in the introduction to the first volume
