Description

Collection of formal portraits by professional photographers with additional amateur snapshots. The formal portraits feature two men:. (1) J.B. Shearer: 4 portraits from ICS graduate at Oxford in 1926, to Commissioner of Income Tax, Bombay, 1945. (2) Sir J.M. Dunnet, CIE: 5 portraits from TA officer in the First World War to Reforms Commissioner, 1933. The remaining prints include miscellaneous snapshots and a group at Jelalabad in 1930. Process = Gelatine silver prints. Photographers = Hamilton Studios, Bombay; T.R. Lachhman & Co,; B. Sewa Singh Gurdit Singh, Amritsar; Russell & Sons, London; and others unknown.,;.
