Administrative / biographical background

A Collection of papers relating to the parliamentary elections for the constituency of Cricklade Borough, 1782-1885. They were apparently accumulated by the firm of Crowdy, Highworth solicitors, of whom James and William were agents of candidates notably Sam Petrie and Lord Andover. The papers are cited in Materials for the History of Cricklade (see for details of the history of the constituency).
