Title

Correspondence Matthew Boulton to James Watt 1778

Date

1778

Description

Letters from Matthew Boulton to James Watt from 1778. All but the first two of these letters were sent to Watt in Cornwall. The bundle also includes two letters to Watt from Boulton & Fothergill, which Watt appears to have kept in this bundle. James Keir added a letter to Boulton's of 30 December. Henry Hazleton summarised some, but not all of the letters in the 1890s, and his summaries have been transcribed.

For two furthers letters from Boulton to Watt of 1778, dated 3 and 14 June, see Logan Henderson's letters of those dates in 3/255, Letters from Henderson, 1778.
