Map of Estates in the Parishes of Kilmersdon, Babington and Mells in the County of Somerset. The Property of J. Moore Paget Esqre. T. O. Bennett of Bruton, Surveyor, 1830. N.B. The Red Numbers refer to the Tithe Commutation Maps. An Exchange of Lands with W.F. Knatchbull Esqre M.P. dated 10th February 1858 Particulars in Reference Book.

20" to 1 mile. O.S. sheets 29NE, SE.

Ink and water colour on linen backed paper.

Luckington and Cherry Garden Farms, and Newoury House and Farm in Kilmersdon, Page House Farm in Babington, and some land adjoining it in Mells. Also shown are parts of the (unfinished) Dorset and Somerset Canal, and two collieries now disused, Page House Colliery near the farm of that name, and Ringing Pits Colliery, immediately north of Highbury, in Kilmersdon. Marked in pencil at a later date are the site of Newbury Colliery and the line of the railway to it. Fields have double numeration, red numbers fefering to the tithe map, black ones to a book of reference which is missing. Footpaths are shown, and fence, etc., ownership is indicated. A key on the map explains the conventions used in indicating land use, etc.
