Description (What the record is about)
-
The earliest book in this series is an Elizabethan prayer book and psalter of the early 1570s, bound with parchment end papers on which the text of the oaths sworn by Corporation members and officials were recorded from the late 16th to about the end of the 18th century. This book passed out of Corporation custody, probably in the early 19th century when the next book was compiled, but was purchased by subscription c.1910.
