Baguley Sanatorium was opened c.1915 by Manchester County Borough Council for Tuberculosis cases. It had started out some fifteen years earlier as an isolation hospital under the direction of Withington Urban District Council. In 1948 it came under the South Manchester Hospital Management Committee and then the Wythenshawe and North Cheshire Hospital Management Committee from 1969 until 1974. It now forms part of the Wythenshawe Hospital complex, run by the South Manchester Health Authority
