-
The main series of surviving records of the Borough are in the custody of the Clerk to the Chipping Sodbury Town Trust [see N.R.A. Report]. This group would seem to be a small part which somehow came into private hands. Mr. Hartley Russell is a descendant of the Hartley family, lords of the manors of Sodbury in the eighteenth century, and that may be the reason why they were in his possession.
