Immediate source of acquisition

Items given to the Nottingham City Archives Office by the executors of the late Miss Constance M. Wood, formerly of Mapperley, Nottm., on 14 Nov. 1973 and transferred to the Nottinghamshire Record Office with the amalgamation of the two offices in 1976. Acc 1785

Administrative / biographical background

Miss Wood was the daughter of Joseph Turney Wood, director of Turney Brothers Ltd., leather dressers, Trent Bridge Works, Nottingham. This firm was founded by his maternal uncle, Sir John Turney. Other items given by Miss Wood (mostly relating to her father) are at M/13, 366-77, M/15, 027-55, M/23, 775-9, M/24, 323-64 and M/24, 403
