(1) pp. 1-551, Abstract of Correspondence relative to Tipu Sultan 24th July 1783 to 10th Feb. 1796, including:-- (2) pp. 341-58, Abstract of the Narrative of William Drake (Midshipman of the Hannibal) who, with other prisoners, was handed over to Hyder Ali by Admiral Pierre André de Suffrein on 12th Aug. 1782. (See H/250 (6) William Hickey in his Journal, Vol. III, p. 56, says that Suffrein asserted that he was compelled to take this apparently infamous action because he could not provide for the prisoners, and the English refused to exchange their French prisoners. (3) pp. 359-76, Abstract of the Narrative of Mons. Burette (a French surgeon in the English Service) taken prisoner by Tipu Sultan in 1791.
