Two scrapbooks compiled during his service as Deputy Assistant Provost Marshal of the Shanghai Defence Force, March - October 1927, which include large numbers of presscuttings and presscutting photographs and cartoons about the Force taken from contemporary local newspapers and also examples of propaganda leaflets circulated by Chinese agitators in Shanghai urging the British and other foreign troops there not to take action against their "fellow" Chinese workers.
