A summary of the common law concerning grants, writs and other matters. ff. 1v-27v. A summary of common law arranged under the following headings: 'graunts'; 'ffaits'; 'ffeoffements'; 'exchanges'; 'dower'; 'tenant by the curtesy'; 'testaments'; 'devises'; 'surrenders'; 'reservations'; 'conditions'. The text appears to be a digest of a larger work, which is referred to sequentially from 1:3 to 168:844. ff. 28r-30r. Blank. ff. 30v-64v. A summary of law concerning writs. The text appears to be a digest of a larger work, which is referred to sequentially from [folios] 1 to 144. ff. 65r-74r (written in the same hand but on paper of smaller size). A further summary of law concerning writs, drawing especially on a work of Anthony Fitzherbert (1470-1538), probably his 'La novel natura brevium' first published in 1534 and frequently reprinted.
