Correspondence and papers concerning the management by Christian Action of the Defence and Aid Fund formed to assist 'victims of unjust legislation or oppressive and arbitrary procedures' and attempts to co-operate with the Africa Bureau. Also correspondence concerning the establishment by Christian Action in 1961 of the South African Fund to assist non-violent and non-racial democratic institutions in South Africa, and conflict with the political fund entitled South Africa Freedom Fund established in the same year by representatives of the South Africa United Front and members of the Liberal and Labour parties.
