The presence among these papers of Buckinghamshire (Mobart), Suffield, Londonderry (Castlereagh), and Lothian material is a consequence of the death of John Hobard, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire, in 1793 without heirs male. His first daughter Harriet married William, 6th Marquess of Lothian, to whose issue the Blickling estate ultimately descended. His second daughter Caroline married William, 2nd Baron Suffield, and the Blickling estate remained in her hands until her death in 1850. His fourth daughter Amelia Anne (Emily) married Robert, Lord Castlereagh, 2nd Marquess of Londonderry, the statesman.
