Wiltshire

The following bundles of Wiltshire deeds were found with labels in the hand of Lady Lucy Hicks Beach, Countess St Aldwyn [references are those given to the bundles by the National Register of Archives]:

MTD/1: "Leases etc in which name of Beach or Batche occur - some of Keevil & one of Fittleton - AD 1589 - AD 1665-1783", and with another label "Name of Batche 1663 & near that date"

MTD/2: "Leases etc which refer to a family named Eyre"

MTD/3-9: "Leases of Duke of Beaufort & a property called Cormayles in Netherhaven [Netheravon] (Wiltshire) AD 1690-1757"

MTD/10-12: "Leases etc AD1700-1788"

MTD/13: "Leases etc which refer to the family of Thorold"

This section has been arranged in such a way as to keep together the deeds relating to the various family estates. As in the Estate section, the most substantial estate, that at Netheravon and Fittleton, has been placed first, including deeds relating to Netheravon, Chisenbury, Fittleton, Haxton and Figheldean. The Keevil estate is next, including deeds relating to Keevil and Steeple Ashton. The Idmiston estate, originally part of the Netheravon and Fittleton estate, descended separately through the family from the 19th century, and has been placed next, followed by estates in Mere and Salisbury with which the Beach family had connections. Finally there are a few strays which it has not been possible to associate with any family connection
