Discusses hypothesis that the differences in the absorption phenomena of [ALPHA] and [BETA] rays may be explained by supposing that [BETA] rays are not liable to deflection by collision as [BETA] rays are. Discusses experiments to test the hypothesis. Offers explanation of Becquerel's experiment in which he found the value of He to be greater at further distances from the radium. Was pleased to see Soddy. Congratulates Rutherford on his work.
