Letters to John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, from Robert Harley, Earl of Oxford (1711), as Secretary of State, 16 Apr., 1706-31 Oct., 1707, and as Lord Treasurer, 29 May-16 Nov., 1711. Copies in a secretary's hand, with a few autograph endorsements. Included also, in Harley's own hand, are:-
(a) Draft instructions to Marlborough as Ambassador Extraordinary to the States General and Captain General of the Forces, 10 Apr., 1706. f.1;- (b) Additional instructions to the same, 14 Apr., 22 May, 1706. ff.3, 27;- (c) Draft letters to the same, 16-27 Sept., 3-14 Oct, 1707. ff.221, 229. At f.73 is a letter of Marlborough to Harley on the treaty, with the Landgrave of Hesse, 8 Aug., 1706.
