Administrative / biographical background

The St. Luke's Lodge was established in 1804 and was held in the Westminster Militia. In 1805 the warrant was transferred from the regiment and the lodge was held in the Duke of York, Woodbridge Street, Ipswich. In 1820 the lodge united with the Lodge of Perfect Friendship, No. 480. The lodge still exists and now meets at the Freemasons' Hall in Ipswich.
