5 flying log books and ts extracts (74pp) from his memoirs, written in 1961, covering his training with the RNAS from January 1917 at Eastchurch Flying School and at the RNAS Training Establishment at Cranwell, instruction in flying seaplanes at Calshot and his service, from October 1917, at the RNAS Portland station (latterly No. 241 Squadron RAF) engaged on anti-submarine patrols in the English Channel, and including some interesting comments on the dangers of naval aviation; and also recording his experiences during the Second World War as an 'Ops B' officer in the Operations Room at RAF Kenley, a major fighter station, throughout the period of the Battle of Britain and as controller at Speke airfield near Liverpool during the raids on Liverpool (May 1941); as a Sector Controller in Alexandria, Egypt and as a Senior Sector Controller at Port Said.
