The Hon. George Howard late of Bookham, Surrey, esq., Governor of Minorca, one of the Lieut. Generals in H.M.forces and Col. of the 7th Regiment of Dragoons.
Recital of articles of agreement of 14 October 1725, before the marriage of Elizabeth Blount and Hugh Clifford, settling £4000 and £2000 after the death of Edward Blount and Annabella his wife.
By his will Lord Clifford declared that after the decease of himself and Annabella Blount £6000 should go to his daughter Mary.
Annabella wished the sum of £2000 to be paid to Elizabeth during her lifetime.
9 March 1735/6 Elizabeth Lady Dowager Clifford placed the £6000 at interest in the hands of Sir William Courtnay.
1 March 1755. Assigned all money to Thomas Clifford.
By marriage settlement between Mary Clifford and Sir Edward Smythe the sum of £5000 transferred to Lord Petre, Marmaduke Langdale and George Howard.
Thomas Clifford, by virtue of the death of his sister Elizabeth, now transfers the sum of £1000 to Lord Petre, Maramduke Langdale and Geo Howard, on trusts of the marriage settlement of Sir Edward Smythe and Dame Mary his wife.
