[Mr Turner's memoirs were written in 1917, inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Newbury Weekly News, and relate to local politics and local newspapers. The volume was previously proposed to be used as the minute book of the District Synod of the Primitive Methodist Church, due to be held at Newbury, May 1911, but contains only a front page, names of committee members, and a resolution of Newbury [Primitive Methodist] Circuit quarterly meeting, September 1910, appointing a local committee to organise the synod, including Thomas Wheildon Turner as secretary; all these entries being crossed through.]
