The collection comprises 74 deeds and wills, the majority of which relate to Newport, Carisbrooke and Whippingham parishes. Frederick and Edward Frederick Blake were solicitors, based in Quay Street, Newport. Frederick was the coroner for the island, registrar of the County Court and clerk to the magistrates for the Borough of Newport. The practice was in existence from at least 1834-1886
