30 horse power side lever boat engine for land, with [31½ inch cylinder], 3 foot stroke.Drawings made in the London office and sent to Soho - coloured reverse elevation and plan of the engine foundations, fly wheel etc.; coloured reverse cross-section and plan of the engine and boiler houses etc. (these drawings show the old beam engine and 2 round boilers); reverse sections of the engine houses.
Elevation and plan of the steam and feed pipes - coloured origninal and coloured reverse drawings; steam slide cock - coloured original drawings. These two drawings bear letter codes.Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 938. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 206.
For Whitbread & Co. Brewery, Chiswell St., St. Luke, London. Samuel Whitbread bought the 20 horse sun and planet engine which is shown in some of these drawings in 1784 [see Portfolio 5/4].
