Lease

Lease (counterpart) for six years of the farms called Cheverton in parishes of Shorwell and St Nicholas, Isle of Wight, and messuage called Compton Fields and the meadow adjoining, which is part of North Court in the parishes of Kingston and Shorwell. Also two closes of ground, part of capital messuage of North Court, i.e. Little New Close (5 acres), the piece of arable in East Cheverton (8 acres), the two sweaths (18 acres), Shortcombe (arable) (9 acres), Upper and Lower Dennis Coombes (34 acres), Longlands (12 acres), the sheepdown belonging to North Court and the lands which belonged to the following tenements - late John Lows (14 acres), late Cookes (14 acres), late Tribbeck - a paddock (1 acre), late Doves tenement, a parcel of land in East Cheverton (1 acre), also 2 parcels of land late Mendus' allotments (5 acres), parcel of arable on east side of Starts Meadow, late part of Lowes (4½ acres), parcel of arable late belonging to Chidles tenement (1 acre), parcel of arable late belonging to Urry's tenement (1 acre), reserving out of this grant a road or way for servants, labourers and workmen to and from Lardown through the field called Little New Close
