Red half-leather bound album measuring 295x255mm, containing snapshots mostly mounted two to a page, with captions written in ink beneath. The album is in poor condition, with binding detached and many pages loose. The volume covers the period of the whole Younghusband Mission to Tibet, from the embarkation of the 32nd Sikh Pioneers at Sahibganj (March 1903) to the occupation of Lhasa (September 1904). Almost all of the photographs in this album also appear in the more complete series of views at Photo 1083/12-15, where they are more fully listed, and also in Photo 1083/58. Those albums supply a more precise dating for most of the prints.
