Description

Collection of 89 prints in four albums (Photo 1180/1-4), documenting the cultivation, processing and preparation for export of jute. These views were probably taken in East Bengal (present-day Bangladesh). Many of the views in the collection are reproduced as plates in D. R. Wallace, The Romance of Jute (2nd edition, London and Calcutta, 1928).
