Attested copy of an indictment against Edward Plannckney of Chester, gent., [name missing] of Chester, carpenter, Lewes ap Ye... ap Edward of the same, labourer, Richard Burroes of the same, carpenter, Nicholas Breues of the same, shoemaker, John Lloyd of the same, yeoman, Lawrence [surname missing] of the same, miller, William Grymesdyche of the same, carpenter, [name missing] of the same, labourer, Richard Smyth alias Cooke of the same, ?merchant, and Philip Geste of the same, labourer, that they with others to the number of 20 persons on 9 July 1550 in Chester at the first hour in the night at a place called [name missing] made an armed entry by means of a ladder into a barn belonging to John Brereton, gent., intending to demolish the same, and caused Edward [surname missing] ?servant of the said John Brereton to fly for his life, and the said John Brereton to be ejected from the said barn contrary to the statute of ?8 Henry VI. [1419-30]
