73. Memorandum on the liability (if any) of the City of Lincoln to contribute towards the expenses of the county assize and the judges' lodgings. Grimsby (a county borough since 1892, but one not having its own court of assize, contributes to the county expenses through the Lindsey County Council precept. But Lincoln, having its own assizes, is exempt under section 32 of the 1888 Local Government Act. The proportion of city to county cases is roughly one to seven.)
