The files contain correspondence, notes, and memoranda exchanged between various British Government offices, regional governments, and representatives of several commercial companies and other institutions. Many of the files relate to the activities and employment of foreign nationals (American, Japanese, German, and Italian) deemed a potential threat to British security and interests in the Persian Gulf just before, during, and just after the Second World War. One of the files (14/7) concerns relations between the Government of Bahrain and the newly-independent Government of India.
