letter on file "104 Carysfoot Rd, Stoke Newington, N16 dated 24/11/1919 - to OIC Wills, 41 Imperial Institute, S Kensington - Sir, would you kindly let Miss Violet Cooke know if her name was included in the Will of the late 2/Lt VT Anderson, who died of wounds in France on 13 April 1918 and was buried at Lapugnoy, Nr Bethune. He belonged to the 3 MGC. She has written from South Africa asking me to investigate and if you will kindly let her know we shall be greatly obliged. Thanking you very kindly, enclosed SAE, Yrs faithfully, Mrs L.Kerkhof. PS I may say that V Cooke was Anderson's fiancee".
Reply: with reference your letter 24 Nov, I am directed to acquaint you that no will executed by the late 2/Lt VT Anderson has been received in , or brought to the notice of this Department. Letters of Administration of the estate were granted in the Supreme Court of SA on 26/8/1918 to Mr JT Anderson of Haddon Hall, Kloof Rd, Capetown."
