Description (What the record is about)
-
Under the will of Robert Shuttleworth the elder (died 1816) the Shuttleworth estates were devised to the Rt. Hon. John Lord Crewe and Abraham Henry Chambers of Bond Street, Msex., to the use of Robert Shuttleworth's son and daughter (Robert and Elizabeth). With the consent of Elizabeth the estates were later conveyed to Robert Shuttleworth. He, by his will, devised them to Sir John Marjoribanks, his father in law, in trust for his daughter, Janet. Robert Shuttleworth died in 1818, and Janet came of age in 1838 when she took possession of the settled estates. The Act of 1840 vested the estates in Thomas Green of Whittington Hall and Richard Shuttleworth Streatfield of the Rocks, Surrey, to hold in trust.
